Case Study: Pandora, Ohio
The future of learning has arrived in western Ohio, as eighth grade students in the Pandora-Gilboa Local School District are leaving the backpacks and textbooks behind in favor of mini laptops – also known as Netbooks – with pre-loaded textbook software installed on them and the Lincoln Interactive curriculum.
This technology-oriented school district is redefining the ways in which students learn. At the beginning of the 2009-2010 school year, all eighth graders were given their own Netbook, with their textbooks all pre-loaded onto the machine and a carrying case to transport. At the end of the year, when students graduate to ninth grade with passing grades, they get to keep the computer.
Also in the Pandora-Gilboa Local School District, twelve high school students are taking a nine-week forensics course using the Lincoln Interactive software. Lincoln Interactive provides students with an innovative educational experience that utilizes state-of-the-art technology and engaging curriculum.
